“Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God” (Psalm 147:7).
Shirley and Bill were on vacation. They looked online to find a Bible-preaching church while in their vacation destination. Never had they traveled to this place before. How thrilled they were to discover a church that sounded really good to them. Sure enough, on Sunday they were greeted by a couple at the door and felt quite welcome. It was easy to find a place to sit because they arrived very early. Folks filled in around them, and a few welcomed them. The service began, and soon they were singing to the Lord with the rest of the congregation. How sweet it seemed to them. Here they were, a long way from home, and yet really they were right at home because they sang to the Lord with thanksgiving, and those around them were doing the same. How wonderful is this. Do you sing to the LORD with thanksgiving during the week as well as with the rest of the family of the Lord on Sunday?
For today: What a wonderful privilege we have as believers to sing to the LORD with thanksgiving! That’s just what we need to do today.
