“I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD has bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which He has bestowed on them according to His mercies, and according to the multitude of His lovingkindness” (Isaiah 63:7).
For the last several days we have been thinking about the lovingkindness of the LORD and His goodness. Sam had a great opportunity to tell his friends of the marvelous mercy of the Lord. Jenny, or Jennifer Elizabeth as her mother always called her, had the incredible opportunity to share with her nurse that night in the hospital. She told her nurse the story of God’s mercy in her own life. Now today let me share with the opportunity that Mitch had to share of the mercy of the Lord. He was in a hurry that day and had many appointments. But, seeing the restaurant ahead that he enjoyed, decided to order a take out. When the server came back with his credit card and bill to sign, he asked her, “May I ask you a question?” The server replied, “Sure, go ahead.” Mitch signed the bill and gave her a generous tip, and handing it back to her, said, “I’m going to take my meal and stop at the park just down the street to eat. There I’m going to take a few minutes to pray, and I was wondering if you had anything that you would like me to pray about.” There was silence for about ten seconds, and then her tears flowed down both cheeks. There was an urgent family situation that very day, and she was so distressed that she confessed she had cried in between customers. Quietly Mitch was able to share with her that day of the mercy that the Lord offers. Much more could be shared, but suffice it to say that the opportunities the Lord presents to us to share His lovingkindness come everywhere we go!
For today: I just wonder who the Lord will bring into your life today who needs to know of God’s mercy.
