“And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on His face at His feet, giving Him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. And Jesus answering said, were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. And He said unto him, arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole” (Luke 17:15-19).
It was dramatic and miraculous. Ten leprous men cried out for mercy. The compassionate Christ gave instructions to go and show themselves to the priests as directed in the Law of Moses. As they were going they were miraculously healed. One of the ten, a Samaritan, just had to turn back and give great glory for the miracle he received. Falling on his face at Jesus feet, this Samaritan gave great thanks for this undeserved blessing. Only one returned, so notes Dr. Luke. Today, I want to be one of those who will give thanks to the Lord. He has done so much for me. How can I do anything less for Him?
For today: What a tremendous reminder. I have much for which to thank the Lord. How about you?
