I am an old man.
But did you know that I have a crown?
It isn’t made of gold, silver, and rubies.
But did you know that my crown is of much more value to me?
Let me explain.
“Children’s children are the crown of old men…” (Proverbs 17:6).
Inside my Bible there is a little card with a handwritten note with hearts from my six-year-old granddaughter, Cassidy. It simply says, “I love you Bampa!” Those of us who have lived long enough to see our children having children are indeed blessed people. May I hasten to add, even if you do not have grandchildren of your own, when you find ways to encourage, teach, mentor, or befriend children and young people, you will be blessed indeed.
Yes, I know that it is time for you to be on your way. Let’s really be praying for children. There are so many all around us that desperately need the Lord in this ever-darkening culture.
