“O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon His name; make known His deeds among the people” (Psalm 105:1).
The twins, Sam and Sue were excited as Friday approached. Their mom had worked out a time for them to stay overnight with Grandma and Grandpa. The twins absolutely loved going to their grandparent’s home. It was always special when bedtime approached. Grandpa would take his really big Bible off the shelf. He would pray that God would help his grandchildren to listen and to honor the Lord. The twins loved hearing their grandparents talk to the Lord. They would call upon Him and then would help them to understand what the Bible was saying. One night Grandpa said, “Do you wonder why we read the Bible and pray?” Before either of the twins could answer, he went right on and spoke very seriously to them. “It is because the Bible tells us that we should. Sam and Susie, the Bible tells us to call upon Him. I am supposed to help you know about what the Lord is doing.” He then quoted from Psalm 105:1. I wish every child had grandparents like Sam and Sue.
For today: Are you calling upon the Lord? What deeds of His are you making known among the people?
