“I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; Being confident of this very thing, that He which has begun a good work in you will perform it unto the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:3-6).

It was a bittersweet day on that hot and humid morning when the missionary couple left the field because of health problems. For nearly fifteen years the couple had worked in the very remote section of their field. Major breakthroughs had occurred, and wonderful victories had been won as family after family came to know Christ as their personal Savior. Now the couple was going to be leaving, and they were saying good-bye. The missionary man held the hand of his wife and read to the tribal people the truth from Philippians 1:3-6 and applied it to them. Many years later one of the men wrote to the missionary couple and said, “It was very difficult for us the day that you left the field. However, I want you to know that it was our joy to fellowship in the gospel with you from the first day until now. I want to assure you that the work is continuing and that we have never forgotten your words. Thank you for your ministry in our lives. We look forward to that day when we will meet you in the air, and it will be a glad reunion day indeed!” What a wonderful testimony that we also need to have as well as we too must walk with the Lord.

For today: How about you? Are you walking with the Lord in such a way that He is able to perform His wonders through you?
