“You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you” (John 15:16).
“No one is ever going to want me,” George said with a tone of rejection. “I always strike out, and even when I do hit it, I never make it to first base before the ball does!” the dejected little boy said to his mom. The next day the teams were being chosen. Ted called out with a loud voice, “I choose George!” At first George didn’t move. He couldn’t believe it. His dad watched from the window and silently thanked Ted for choosing his boy. His thoughts drifted to the Lord, and he caught himself thanking the Lord again for choosing him. Just under his breath, George’s dad whispered, “Some folks talk about choosing You, Lord. But I know that You are the One that chose me. Thank you so much, Lord.”
For today: If you are a believer, even if no one chose you to be on the ball team, the Lord Jesus still says, “I have chosen you.”
