Correction: Yesterday I said that the newsletter was called “For My Glory.” I had doubts when I read the DP for yesterday. The newsletter was actually called “For His Glory!” The rest of the Daily Prescription is correct. I love this season of my life. Why? Because I make so many people laugh! -mjp
“Therefore said He unto them, the harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He would send forth laborers into His harvest” (Luke 10:2).
There are a lot of things that I don’t understand in life. This harvest thing is something that I totally believe in but don’t fully understand. Here’s what I know to be true. First, the harvest is very important to the Lord. Second, the field of needy people is immense. Third, the Lord cares deeply about these people and their needs. Fourth, nothing is too hard for the Lord. Fifth, it is a great honor to serve the Lord. Sixth, the Lord wants many to be out working in His harvest field. So far so good in my understanding. Now I come to the statement that is hard to comprehend. Here it is. I am to pray that the Lord will send people into His harvest even though it is His will for people to be involved in His harvest and even though nothing is too hard for Him. I am still to pray that He would send laborers. All right! Even though I don’t quite understand this, I do believe it. “Lord, please send laborers into Your harvest field today. Maybe even the person who is reading this today needs to be included.”
For today: How great is our God. I don’t have to understand. I only have to cheerfully and lovingly obey!
