“In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Above it stood the Seraphims: each one had six wings… And one cried unto another and said, holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of His glory” (Isaiah 6:1-3).
Several carpoolers were having an interesting discussion one day on their way to work. “I know that the Lord looks on the inward man and judges his heart,” spoke Adam who just recently had trusted Christ to be his Savior. “But it just doesn’t fail to amaze me how casual we have become in the United States in every area, including the way we think, act, and even dress in our worship of God. On Saturday night I watch the 11 o’clock weather and see the meteorologist wearing a suit and tie. He’s only telling us about the weather! Then on Sunday morning I find believers who come to worship the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords in old shirts and a pair of shorts! If I say anything, I am accused of being a legalist. I just don’t get it,” Adam said with a note of confusion in his voice. With that they arrived at the parking lot of their company. I must confess that I can’t help but say I think Adam is really onto something. I do believe that our God is incredibly holy, and He is to be honored above anything and everything else on earth. I must never be casual in my relationship with the Lord.
For today: Throughout my day I need to remember that our God is holy, holy, holy!
