Scammers.
Some folks seem to have nothing better to do than to prey on other people.
They can be so frustrating.
How many times have you had to change your passwords?
Perhaps you have a received a phone call that looked legitimate but it turned out to be a potential scammer.
Frustrating to say the least!
Think of this verse and then I will tell you what happened to me.
“Love suffers long and is kind…rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth” (1 Corinthians 13:4a, 6).
If you watch the news very much, you may have learned of another person, typically a senior citizen, being tricked by scammers. Often a person calls stating that they are from the IRS and that unless they immediately make a payment with gift cards, then the police will come and arrest them. Tragically, some dear folks have actually fallen for such a lie.
Several years ago, I received an email stating that my grandson was traveling overseas and had been arrested. I needed to send bail money to such and such a place immediately. I happened to know that my adult grandsons were at work here in the United States, and my other grandsons (who were minors) were in school and not traveling overseas!
The point is that wicked people with hard hearts can seemingly lie and cheat others without flinching or caring. True love rejoices in the truth and not in iniquity. We need to stay close to the Lord Jesus. He is the “way, truth, and the life” (John 14:6). The more we get to know His ways, the greater will be our genuine love and rejoicing in the truth.
I want something to be obvious and to graciously show: Fully trust the Bible and grow in your love for its Author. Your genuine love will sweetly show.
