“There has no temptation taken you but such is as common to man: but God is faithful” (1 Corinthians 10:13).”

“No one else has ever had this happen to them!” Janet screamed in frustration and anger. Her locker wouldn’t open, and when it eventually did, her history book with all the folded papers inside came flying down, opening up with her papers scattering all over the middle school floor. Of course, many stood laughing at her situation. Only a few offered to help. Later that afternoon, upon arriving home from school, she told her mother how embarrassed she was and how she never wanted to go back to school again. It gave Mom the opportunity to quietly discuss with her that she was not the only one in the whole-wide world to have something embarrassing happen. Mom shared several of those moments from her own experience with Janet that day. As they talked, Mom mentioned, “You know Janet, one of the things that has helped me over the years is to remember that whatever is happening to me right now has happened to others before and will happen to others in the future as well. You really are not alone,” Mom assured her. More about this tomorrow!

For today: You are not alone. Your experience may have particular circumstances. However, rest assured that you face nothing unique. God is still faithful.
