Bushels of Blessings The Annual Press Fund
Prayer Letter of Michael and Karen Peck Serving with Baptist Church Planters
Dear Supporters and Prayer Partners,
Karen and I thank the Lord for you. You may never fully understand how special you are to us. We are overwhelmed with your thoughtfulness, generosity, and kindness. After all these years of partnership in our ministry, you know us very well. Karen and I have served for thirty-one years as a pastor and wife in New York and now are marking the fourteenth anniversary of our ministry as missionaries with Baptist Church Planters. We love serving the Lord and being a resource to the entire BCP missionary family. Our great God continues to use you to make our ministry possible.
We would much rather be telling you what the Lord is doing rather than asking for funds. However, this is the one time of the year that we do write this special PRESS fund letter. As I said before, you do know us well. We don’t like asking for funds. We seldom ask, but we need your prayers and partnership in these ministry opportunities.
What the PRESS Fund means. Since we write this letter only once a year, it would be easy to forget. Here is what my PRESS Fund stands for and the goal that I’ve set for each category.
PR stands for Professional Reimbursement. GOAL: $500. This covers the expenses that we incur as we serve in our ministry. We must raise the funds
for limited travel, the cost of mailings, materials, books, journals, advertisings,
and office supplies.
E stands for Equipment. GOAL: $2000. This is the actual equipment to do our ministry as well as the cost of the website ministry. Here are the two items for this very important goal:
($1600) New desktop computer, wireless keyboard, mouse, and large monitor. Our IT men are helping me build a work station that will serve me well as I produce resources for pastors, counselors, and families. The actual cost is a little higher than this; however, because of your generosity last year, I have some funds to go toward this project.
($ 400) Support for Chris Brown’s ministry. Chris provides the technical help for my website. He is such a tremendous blessing. We appreciate the time that he invests keeping my website working.
SS stands for Supplemental Support. GOAL: $5000. We are not in any way complaining, but we do want to explain to you that several of our significant supporters have dropped us due to their financial situations. This will supplement our general support fund for the entire year.
TOTAL PRESS FUND GOAL: $7500.
I will write a personal update on the next page. If you would like to help with our ministry, please fill out the little form at the bottom of our letter. Make your check payable to: Baptist Church Planters. Attach the form and mail your check to: Baptist Church Planters at 36830 Royalton Road, Grafton, OH 44044. Thank you so much for considering this request.

Personal Update and Situation. I mentioned in our last prayer letter that the next time I wrote, I would fully update you on our personal lives and ministry. There are several things that I want to share because of our partnership with you.
Karen continues her chemotherapy every twenty-one days. It really is difficult for her. Thank you so much for your prayers. We surely need it. We have been told to prepare ourselves that she will need this chemotherapy for the rest of her life. We know that the Lord is able to fully heal her and rid her of this cancer. But for right now, we are on quite a journey. She is such a wonderful testimony of the Lord’s grace and help.
I will turn 65 in the next few months and will be eligible for Medicare! I don’t have the exact figure yet of how much my supplemental insurance will cost; however, I know that there will be a reduction in the cost of my health insurance. Even with our current medical bills, with the reduction of the cost of my health insurance plus a little of last year’s PRESS fund left over, I truly believe that the supplemental goal of $5000 will be sufficient for our support level.
My full retirement age is 66. I love to serve the Lord, and writing is a joy to me. There are so many potential projects for me to still write and to produce as resources for our missionaries as well as local church pastors. I would like to be able to write for another year or two as your supported missionaries. I love helping pastors and missionaries with their more difficult counseling situations. Even after I “retire” in a couple of years, I am going to continue doing exactly what I am doing right now, if the Lord permits it.
“The Journey of a Lifetime” series now has three published books. Book # 1 is premarital counseling and is entitled “From This Day Forward—Preparing Couples for the Journey of a Lifetime.” Book # 2 is a marriage study and is entitled “Connecting—Developing Closeness on the Journey of a Lifetime.” Book # 3 is being printed as I write! This will be great for pastors, counselors, small group leaders and couples to read together. It’s entitled “Pardon the Dust—Our Marriage is Under Construction.” It is amazing how similar the building of a beautiful marriage is to that of building a beautiful house. I’m so excited about these three books now available and being used throughout the United States.
My website is being used dozens of times daily. I looked at the PRESS fund letter I wrote last year. At that time a little over 9,000 had visited my website. One year later, over 47,000 people have come to the website for resource material. Videos are available in the media section, bulletin fillers are available in the resource section, and helps are available for pastors and church leaders in the pastor’s section. Lots of articles are available for home and family. Have you checked out www.michaelpeck.org? I am so thrilled that the website is not only available to servants here in the United States. It is being used in over a dozen other countries, some of which are limited access.
Your prayers and generosity truly make this ministry possible. The Apostle Paul said “But that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things: whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts” (Ephesians 6:21-22). I hope this letter will be our “Tychicus” sent from our hearts to you, our dear supporters. You are faithful partners in our ministry, and we are happy to provide this report detailing the “affairs” of our ministry with you. We love you and thank the Lord for you!
