“Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them” (Acts 8:5).

Samaria!

Many of the ancient Jewish people would never think of going to Samaria. Those Samaritans were the outcasts. To reach out to them would be unthinkable to many. But reaching out to them with the gospel was not unthinkable to the Lord Jesus, nor was it to His servants.

Earlier, the Lord Jesus had commissioned His servants: “You shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth” (Acts 1:8).

Bless his heart. Philip had a tremendous ministry to Samaritans. No ethnicity should ever be thought to be hopeless. No situation should ever be thought insurmountable. The gospel must be preached in person, or on the radio and television, on social media or via printed material to every people group and ethnicity. I appreciate the ministry of Philip. How about you?
