“The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the Word of our God shall stand for ever” (Isaiah 40:8).
Two neighbors were having a conversation one day about a plumbing problem one of them was experiencing. It was amazing that as they talked a van drove through their neighborhood advertising a local plumber. “Don’t call him,” advised the neighbor. “Why not?” was the response. “You can’t trust him. He’s not a man of his word. You can’t believe a word that he says,” the neighbor replied. The van drove on by and because of his many broken promises this plumbing job would not go to him. How different from the Word of God! It stands. Not just for a little while. It stands forever.
For today: Trust the Word of God. The Author keeps His promises!
