Thank you for joining Dr. Mike’s Daily Prescriptions. You are special to the Lord and to me as well. Happy Labor Day to you and yours. You might have the day off and are planning something special. Briefly think of this with me today.

This gives us joy today: “And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, All power is given unto Me in heaven and earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” (Matthew 28:18-20).

Commonly called “The Great Commission,” we thrill to hear the words of our Savior as He sends His disciples to represent Him. Literally He tells the disciples as you are going, disciple others to follow Me. We could stay on these verses for weeks exploring and discovering the depths of the plan of the Lord.

Today, two things truly bring me joy. First, our Savior’s authority “All power is given unto Me.” This is the word exousia (ex-oo-SEE-ah) which speaks of authority granted. A day will come when He will be known as King of kings and LORD of Lords. Second, our Savior’s assurance “Lo, I am with you always.” He will never leave us. He will never forsake us. He will never abandon us. May His authority and assurance bring you great joy today.
