“But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).
It was later in the evening on her shift at the local restaurant. She was new on the job and was learning all the many things she would need to remember as a server. Her feet were hurting. Her nerves were ragged as she had several customers who were not very patient. Her feelings had been hurt by several unkind remarks. She faced challenges at home and now this new job seemed to be difficult at every turn. Carley was in tears when the server who was training her said, “Honey, you just need a little encouragement. You’re going to catch on and it will get better. We’ve had some tough customers tonight. But you will also have some nice ones. You’ll see.” About twenty minutes later Micah and Karissa were seated in her area. They were pleasant with her and before they left Micah said to her, “Carley, it has been an absolute pleasure having you taking care of us this evening. You did an outstanding job in every way.” Before he could say another word, she was sobbing. Karissa hugged her as Carley said, “The Lord promised to supply my needs. I needed you folks tonight and He sent you to me!” It was a precious two-minute conversation about the Lord, an older couple who wanted to be an encouragement, and a young Christian lady who had a need wonderfully supplied.
For today: How will this play out in your life today?
