“Understand therefore this day, that the LORD thy God is He which goeth over before thee” (Deuteronomy 9:3).
The children of Israel were camped in the plains of Moab. Soon they would be entering the land promised to them by the Lord. The often used phrase, “We’ve never done it this way before,” was certainly true in their lives. Think of what they would soon experience. They would fight battles they had never faced before. They would be going to places they had never visited before. Everything would be new to them. What a wonderful word of assurance from the Lord as He said, “The LORD thy God is He which goeth over before thee.” Similarly, when we face uncertain situations, it is great to remember that our God goes before us.
For today: Remember the old chorus that says, “My Lord knows the way through the wilderness, all I have to do is follow.”
