“No striker, not given to filthy lucre; But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate; Holding fast the faithful Word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers” (Titus 1:7-9).
The unruly department didn’t know what to expect, but when they came into work, tables were set, nice silverware and china were in place and the decorations were beautiful. People came in and discovered that their names had been placed at their assigned seats. “Good morning, co-workers. I’d like to introduce my wife and best friend, Anna,” Marty began. “She has been busy preparing your breakfast,” and with that, subdued applause took place. A wonderful breakfast meal was served. Following this, Marty spoke to his co-workers about the condition of their department. After about fifteen minutes Marty concluded by saying, “I know that some of you wanted my position. I know that all of us can do a lot better than we have been doing. I am here to do anything that I can to help you to be the most successful that you can be. Every day I come home with the desire of pleasing two people. They are my Lord and my Anna. Will you allow me the privilege of providing whatever you need to make this the most successful department in the division?”
For today: How will hospitality, holy living, and being faithful work out in your life today?
