We are beginning our month of September by remembering the joy that the Lord wants to give us.
This gives us joy today: “Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you” (1 Peter 5:7).
If you know Jesus as Savior, there are wonderful blessings that come in spite of great trials.
Though at times we are lonely, we are never alone.
Though the hardships at times are heavy, we never have to try and carry them on our own.
Though the temptations at times are so great, we never have to face these on our own.
Peter speaks to us about the following:
First, he speaks about “casting.” This literally means “to throw or place upon another.”
Second, he speaks about “all our care.” This is an interesting word picture of that which causes things to pull us in different directions. This pulling from multiple directions produces anxieties.
Third, he speaks about “upon Him for He careth for you.” This caring is to take genuine interest in, a special desire to demonstrate His loving care for His people.
How do you “cast” your cares upon the Lord? We’ll look at that tomorrow. What an awesome Savior is the Lord Jesus. It’s going to be a great blessing to walk with Him today, isn’t it?
