“I say unto thee, arise, and take up thy bed , and go thy way into thine house . And he immediately arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, we never saw it on this fashion” (Mark 2:11-12).
I want to remind you that the Lord Jesus is sovereign and He does whatever fulfills His eternal purpose. The Lord Jesus can answer with a ‘yes’ when we pray and ask Him to make our loved ones better. Or He can say ‘no’ and take our loved ones Home. Either way, whether a yes or a no, there is a greater purpose and that is that He would be glorified. This has great personal application to me. You know that my precious Karen battled cancer for over two years. Many folks asked the Lord to heal her. He said, “No.” Others that we know and for whom we have prayed, the Lord has answered, “Yes.” Whether it is a no or it is a yes, the same goal is always first and foremost: how will this glorify the Lord today? In what ways can we glorify the Lord today?
For today: Lord, You have been so good and faithful to me.
