The Top Seven Things You Can Absolutely Know Today
Even in very uncertain times we who have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ possess a very sweet and wonderful assurance. The Apostle Paul said, “For I know Whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him until that Day” (2 Timothy 1:12).
Did you know that the word “know” is found 763 times in the Bible? I love this truth. We trust Him and know for sure that He is God. Even in days of uncertainty and chaos, we know to Whom we belong. What a tremendous time for those of us who are followers of Christ to be a clear, consistent Godly and gracious witness for Him! Here are seven things that we believers know for sure.
1. We know that the best is yet to come. “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away” (Revelation 21:4).
2. We know that we are going to gaze upon His glory. “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world” (John 17:24).
3. We know that the Father’s House is called Heaven and we will be with Him. “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:2-3).
4. We know that presently we are safe and secure in His hands. “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand” (John 10:27-28)
.
5. We know that when troubles come we have a Rock higher than ourselves. “From the end of the earth I will cry to You. When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I” (Psalm 61:2).
6. We know that He is our God and early we will seek Him. “O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for you…” (Psalm 63:1).
7. We know that our times are in His hands. “My times are in Your hand…” (Psalm 31:15).
These are wonderful things to know. You can have this settled assurance. But you can only know these wonderful blessings if there has been a time in your life that you have personally placed your trust in Christ’s work of salvation and asked Him to be your Savior.
