One day I got to grumbling and thinking life’s unfair.
I moped around all morning. I pouted with a stare.
Of all the things most curious,‘twas me on that sad day!
Nothing good or happy, from my lips you’d hear me say!
And then I had a talk with me, I said, “Now listen, son.
You’re acting mighty silly; it’s time that you are done.
You think your life is unfair, that you must have your due.
If that’s the case then, mister, you’re acting like a fool!”
Food to eat, clothes to wear, you’re breathing God’s free air
Friends to hold, work to do, my God’s beyond compare!
Surely the Lord is mighty. He is worthy of my praise.
Less of my grumbling, more praises then I must raise!
