The Apostle Peter gives very good counsel for when life is unfair and people are unkind. He pointedly speaks about those who have done well and are suffering for it. He says, “Take it patiently, this is acceptable with God” (1 Peter 2:20). Think of the phrase, “Take it patiently.” Picture the word “STOP.”
S= Shhh! Guard my lips and choice of words (1 Peter 2:22-23a; 3:10).
T= Transfer my anger. Quickly ask the Lord to take it from me (1 Peter 2:1).
O= Operate Biblically. In other words, I must do as the Bible teaches (1 Peter 3:8).
P= Praise Him. I must demonstrate the new life (1 Peter 2:9).
