Wonderful Refuge! Wonderful Fortress!

A few days ago a friend was sharing with me how life is hard. It truly is. However, we believers are not without help and hope. We can trust the Lord. Let’s turn our thoughts for just a moment to the wonderful book of Psalms.

“I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust” (Psalm 91:2).

I most certainly rejoice along with the Psalmist as to Who the Lord is and what He does. He is my LORD and God Who provides a place of refuge and security for me. If you know Christ as your Savior, aren’t you glad that you never face even the most difficult circumstances on your own? The writer of Psalm 91 explains to us that because of this awesome LORD God being our refuge and fortress, we can trust Him. The Hebrew word for trust is batach which is pronounced ba-TAKH and means “to be the place of security and confidence.” It actually gives the idea of feeling safe. So, what are you facing today? Picture the LORD God being your refuge, your fortress. You can trust Him.

In our situations right now: Whatever we face today, we are not alone if we know Christ as our Savior. I want to trust Him. How about you?
