Worth a Million Dollars
Four-year-old Jennifer ran up to her mother with her little hand behind her back. Grinning as she brought her gift with an outstretched arm. “Happy ‘I Love You, Mommy’ Day!” she shouted with an exuberant joy. In her hand was a little bouquet of bright yellow dandelions. With great joy and delight Mom took the dandelion bouquet from her little girl’s hand. As soon as Jenny released the flowers, those little arms wrapped around her mother’s neck. “I love you, Mommy. That’s why it is ‘I Love You Day!’ I’m glad you’re my mommy!”
Tears came to that mommy’s eyes and a whisper to the Lord, “I wouldn’t trade this for a million dollars, Lord. Thank you.” The writer of Psalm 127:3 states, “Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is His reward.” If your mother is still living, you can make it an “I Love You, Mother’s Day” any day of the year! Today would be a great time to start!
