“You Prayed! We Could Sense This! Thank You!
A follow-up update on my Karen December 28th, 2016
Yesterday I shared with you about Karen’s situation and the hurried up visit to the emergency room. I shared with you how much we appreciate your prayers and concern for us. We are so blessed. So many friends assured us that they would be praying. We can’t begin to tell you how much this means to us.
I closed the update yesterday by telling you about the scheduled appointment with the Specialist. We saw him today and he was very pleased. Very pleased! Karen’s breath sounds were excellent. Her oxygen levels are very good. Here is another great blessing to us. Remember that Karen’s particular kind of cancer produces terrible fluid. Every day we do several measurements to chart the fluid production. Eight days after one of her abdominal drainings the fluid was beginning to significantly build up. We are now fourteen days after her last draining and there is no increase in any of her measurements. In fact, in two of the measurements there were slight decreases.
So for right now we continue with Karen taking the chemotherapy pill. We are thrilled that the fluid doesn’t appear to be building at this point. We are so thankful for a wonderful medical team that is knowledgeable, skilled, and compassionate. We are so blessed by having so many dear folks who really care about us and faithfully pray for us. We are especially grateful for the privilege of belonging to the Lord and knowing that He is our precious Father.
Please join me in praying about several things.
1. Please pray the chemo pill will be very effective in fighting this cancer.
2. Please pray that the lung irritation and cough does not return.
3. Please pray that Karen will be well enough for us to be able to get back to church services once again.
4. Please pray that Mike and Karen will be an encouragement to others.
If there are things that we could pray about with you, please let us know by emailing us at PastorMJP@aol.com.
