“Be strong and of good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them; for the LORD thy God, He it is that doth go with thee; He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee” (Deuteronomy 31:6).
Those wonderful phrases “He goes with you” and “He will not fail you” are personal and precious. Julie read this passage on summer vacation. Barefoot and enjoying the sunshine, she thought of how Joshua must have felt when Moses was gone and he would lead the children of Israel. She reflected on how Joshua witnessed the rebellion and hardships Moses faced. Now he would endure hardships that must have been overwhelming. “He goes with you” and “He will not fail you” really were promises that were not only good for Joshua but for her as well. Come to think of it, they’re really, really good for us today as well, aren’t they?
For today: How will “He goes with you” and “He will not fail you” play out in your life today? Be watching and think of these promises often.
