“But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us” (Ephesians 2:4).
The police officer backed his cruiser out the driveway of one of the wealthiest persons in town. “I can’t believe it,” his partner said. “I can’t believe he called us because of the ball that came into his yard,” the officer noted. “Yeah, in many ways I feel badly for him. All that can be said of him is that he is rich in money. To my knowledge, he has no friends. Only money,” he said as he put the patrol car in drive and left the scene of the “crime”—a ball that rolled into his yard from the hands of a young boy passing by. “Sad, he only has money,” the officers both concluded. How different with the Lord. He is rich in everything. Paul notes that He is rich in His mercy. We all can be glad of that!
For today: Be thankful that you belong to the One who is fabulously rich in everything, even mercy!
