“Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth” (Proverbs 27:1).
It was just a typical Tuesday. Several of the men from the office were going for drinks. “Come on Pete, just this once. Come with us. You’ll have a great time,” Marvin said. Pete smiled and again thanked him for the invitation but said with a note of seriousness, “Marv, you know that I have spoken to you about the Lord and eternity. Won’t you please think about what I have said?” Peter asked pleadingly. “Don’t worry friend, I’ve got all the time in the world,” Marvin laughed as he started for the door. “I’ve got plenty of time.” With that Marv left, and that would be the last time Peter would ever see his work friend. He died that night. You never know what a day may bring forth.
For today: I am glad that though I cannot see beyond today, I belong to the One Who can! How about you?
