“He shall glorify Me” (John 16:14).

Gloria was talking with her girlfriends at work on a Monday morning. “What a great service at my church yesterday. The Holy Spirit is breaking out all over the place,” she said. Two of the ladies listening to her had questions in their minds. They attended a vibrant Bible-believing church. As they listened to Gloria describe the events taking place at her church, it was obvious that several things were in direct opposition to the teaching of the Word. Marty tenderly asked Gloria, “You mentioned that the Holy Spirit was breaking out all over the place. But some of the things you described aren’t even biblical. When the Holy Spirit is working, Gloria, He will always magnify and glorify the Lord Jesus. He never violates the Word. He never promotes Himself.” In anger Gloria stomped away. She didn’t want to hear the truth. How about you? Aren’t you glad that the Holy Spirit, in His great church age ministry to and through the believer, always glorifies the Lord Jesus, the Son of God?

For today: How I appreciate the ministry of the Holy Spirit. What an awesome Lord to Whom we belong.
