“Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice before the Lord: for He cometh, for He cometh to judge the earth; He shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with His truth” (Psalm 96:12-13).
Several weeks ago I was chatting with my dear wife. I said to her, “I’m going to be writing Daily Prescriptions for the month of March. Give me an idea. What should I write about?” She hardly looked up from what she was doing and fooling with me replied, “Trees and asparagus.” So today, I write about trees. The Psalmist rejoiced because he by faith saw the day coming when Messiah would rule and reign on the earth. When that happens the earth will be filled with joy and gladness as the Divine curse is removed and the blessing of the Lord our God returns to the world. The trees of the woods will practically break out into praise! What a great day that will be! As our world spirals out of control and plunges deeper into sin and despair, don’t lose sight of the fact that the greatest days are ahead. As for asparagus, come back tomorrow!
For today: I am so glad that I belong to the One Who someday will rule and reign in righteousness. How about you?
