“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5).

 The writer of the Proverbs expresses the good counsel to trust in the LORD wholeheartedly. This word “trust” is batach which means “to have confidence in, to feel secure in.” Many years ago, my little girl loved to go swimming as long as she could be in her daddy’s arms. She would laugh, splash, and love the water as long as I was holding her. Do you think I was ever tempted to let her go and let her sink? Never! She could batach, feel secure in her daddy’s arms. Guess what? That is exactly how the Lord wants us to view Him as well.

For today: If you know the Lord Jesus, then picture yourself in the arms of your Heavenly Father. You can trust Him. He won’t drop you!
