“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23).
As Pastor Kenward gave the church’s mailing address one last time, he signed off on the taping of the church’s radio ministry. He signaled to the technician in the opposite studio, and the brightly lit sign ‘QUIET PLEASE..ON AIR’ was turned off. Taking the headset off and gathering his papers, the pastor met the radio personnel just outside of studio A. “Good taping, Pastor,” Dave the technician said. “I like how you are able to make it sound like you are in someone’s house and simply talking with him. Sometimes I feel you are talking just to me.” The pastor smiled, thanked him, and whispered, “I am speaking just to you, and maybe around five million others!” They laughed together. But then the pastor seriously said, “But you know, Dave, every single person is either going to experience wages or a gift. The wages of sin is death. On the other hand the gift of God is eternal life.” It was a wonderful witnessing situation that day in the radio studio foyer. How is it with you? Have you accepted the gift of God and are you trusting in Him alone for your salvation?
