“Be reconciled to God” (2 Corinthians 5:20).
He tried every excuse he could think of for not coming to church that morning. It looked like it might rain. His shoulder was bothering him. He knew of at least one hypocrite in that church. Well, at least he thought that’s where the hypocrite attended. Maybe. Something unexplainable was taking place in his life. Overcoming all these and a dozen other excuses, he absolutely had to attend the service that morning. The pastor spoke on the subject of “Be Reconciled to God” from the text in our reading today. The pastor explained that he was separated from God and that his sins had offended the holy God Who also would be his Judge. Then the pastor explained how he could never satisfy the demands of the offence, but God‘s Son did. After hearing the gospel, he couldn’t wait to speak with someone after the service. He wanted to be reconciled to God. He found it hard to explain to his buddies the next day. What a burden lifted! He was reconciled to God because he asked the Lord Jesus to be his Savior. Have you been reconciled to God?
For today: Don’t let anything stop you from asking the Lord to be your Savior. To learn more, go my web site, www.michaelpeck.org, and click “Heaven: Am I Going There?”
