“And he (Solomon) said, LORD God of Israel, there is no God like Thee, in Heaven above , or on earth beneath, Who keepest covenant and mercy with Thy servants that walk before Thee with all their heart” (1 Kings 8:23). (italics added)
Solomon was a lot wiser in his younger years than he was in his older years. How sad when we read toward the end of his life just several chapters later, “For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods” (1 Kings 11:6). So the good lesson for each of us today would be to daily commit our walk with the Lord and daily praise our awesome God. We ask the Lord for salvation only once. However, we walk with the Lord each day and must never, ever lose sight that there is only one true and living God. Only One! Today enjoy the walk with Him.
For today: Let’s be as smart as Solomon when He acknowledged the greatness of our One and only great God.
