“Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD, for He is good: for His mercy endureth for ever” (Psalm 106:1).
Today is one of my favorite national holidays. I have always loved Thanksgiving. I remember with great fondness the wonderful times of families gatherings at my grandparents’ home. Grandpa carved the turkey, and when no one was watching, he and I would sample the delicious meat. Now I am the grandpa, and my grandchildren love to come for little samples (in fact, so do my adult children!) This Thanksgiving is extremely special to us. As my family gathers, we know that our dear Karen is battling a very serious cancer. It is so special that so many of our family is coming home. As we gather today I want to be very clear in my conviction that God is good. He is to be praised, and we have much for which to be thankful. How about you? Is it a genuine day of thanks in your heart and life?
For today: Thanksgiving is not just one day per year. It is the precious attitude of the believer’s heart every day.
