“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3). “I have given them Thy Word” (John 17:14).
On the night before He would die on the cross for our sins, the Lord Jesus reported to His Father that He had faithfully delivered His Word. What an incredible statement! God has revealed Himself to us in general revelation through His creation (Psalm 19). However, He has revealed Himself to us in special revelation through the Scriptures (Romans 10:17) and His Son (Hebrews 1:1-2).
For today: Be thankful for the precious Son of God. Read what He told us in the Bible, God’s Word.

“My son, be wise, and make my heart glad…” (Proverbs 27:11).
Solomon encouraged his son to live wisely. A wise child makes a dad glad! You will be faced with many decisions along the way. Perhaps even today you will make choices that may have long term consequences. Choose wisely! Seek the Lord’s direction through His Word. Pray earnestly for this wisdom (James 1:5).
For today: Before you act, stop and ask yourself, “Is this a wise thing to do?” You will be glad you did!

“Thou wilt show me the path of life: in Thy presence is fullness of joy; at Thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore” (Psalm 16:11).
Way back in 1637 William Austin spoke of four things from this verse. He spoke of:
1. A guide (Thou)
2. A traveler (me)
3. A way (path)
4. The end (life).
For today: What a wonderful blessing to know the Lord Jesus. Those who have accepted His gift are on a glorious journey!

“…For I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content” (Philippians 4:11).
So many people around us today are being driven by a sense of greed. Their lives are empty; yet they seek to find happiness by obtaining more and more. Today can be a great time of learning the joy of contentment. This is not laziness; but the assurance that God’s provision and the fruit of my labor will result in what is just right for me. Learn contentment!
For today: Ask the Lord to help you appreciate your blessings and to learn to be content.
