Friday Afternoon Update
Karen’s Lab Work Results are Back
Karen and I have been purposely watching for the blessings along the way today. If you haven’t read my Daily Prescriptions (www.michaelpeck.org) for today, please take a minute to check it out. In that devotional we are challenged to be on the lookout for blessings. We get traveling along so quickly or we become so consumed in a situation that we miss the wonderful blessing that the Lord has set before us to enjoy.
We are blessed. We belong to the Lord and are His Own children because of what the Lord Jesus did for us on the cross and the empty tomb. We are blessed because we have the absolute assurance that Heaven is real and eternity is before us. We are blessed because we have a wonderful family where we are loved and often reminded by children and grandchildren that would do anything for us. We are blessed because we have many friends who express their love and concern for us. We are blessed because we have each other. Our marriage is strong and by God’s mercies even though we have opposite personalities, we are best friends.
We do have a major prayer request today. Karen’s lab work was this morning at the Seidman Cancer Center. The technician told Karen that they would like her blood count to be at a 4 or better. Karen’s is at 2.7 which is low. She is going to need to be very careful being around people. I know that she is not going to miss Resurrection Sunday services, but I do want her to avoid getting a cold right now before her next round of chemo therapy begins.
On a much lighter note, here is something that will bring a smile to your face. For the first time ever, later this afternoon I am going to wash the dog. Please understand that in spite of 10.5 years of college and seminary education, I don’t seem to do so well at understanding the mind of our little dog Hachi. This should be video recorded and put on the internet. Do you want an update on how the adventure went? Let me know you are interested at PastorMJP@aol.com.
