“Confess your faults one to another, and pray for one another” (James 5:16).
James strongly taught early believers the practical principles of Godly living. One such principle is to live honestly and transparently before others. James reminded the believers to be ready to confess their faults and be quick to pray for others. Have you ever met someone who “just is never wrong about anything?” It is hard to form a lasting friendship or relationship with such a person, isn’t it? On the other hand James never taught that we ought to broadcast our sins and failures by going into the lurid details of our failures. What a balance is presented for our help. Don’t broadcast, but be ready to confess your faults as you earnestly pray for others. That’s how I want to live. How about you?
For today: Be honest. Watch how confessing your faults at appropriate times turns out to be helpful to others who are struggling.
