“Come and see the works of God: He is terrible” Psalm 66:5).
It is interesting to me that the King James Version of the Bible uses the word “terrible” for the word “awesome.” The actual Hebrew word is yare which means, “To be feared, to be held in awe, to be worthy of reverence.” Apparently in 1611 the word “terrible” described this. Though our word has dramatically changed, I pray that our attitude has not! When we think of the works of our Lord, He is awesome in every sense of the word. He is worthy of our reverence and worship.
For today: May your life be filled with joy today as you think about your awesome Lord and His amazing works.
