Saturday Update April 18th, 2015
“It Turns Out Monday is a Big Day!”
Well sometimes things change pretty quickly. We were proceeding merrily along with the schedule for next week which took us to Mercy Regional Hospital on Tuesday for the vascular surgeon to place the port in Karen’s upper chest area. Then word came from the oncology department of the Seidman Cancer Center to report for an unscheduled lab on Monday. Why? The earlier round of chemo-therapy really knocked her blood count down to the point that surgery would be impossible. We need to check her blood count on Monday before the surgery can take place on Tuesday.
Remember the shot I had to give her last Saturday? That injection is designed to throw the bone marrow into overdrive to get the blood count back up. By the aches and pains Karen felt all over by last Monday, I would say that the injection really worked. We will find out on Monday.
Would you please be praying over the weekend that the Lord will show our doctors what He wants Karen to do next week? Pray for the labs on Monday morning (I will update you on Monday afternoon after we know the results). I will let you know the details of the schedule for the rest of the week.
Thank you dear friends for your prayers, notes, cards, and gifts that have come to Karen and me. We are so overwhelmed with your friendship. I will soon post to you some counsel that we received that said, “Be sure to circle the wagons.” Be watching for this! I think you will enjoy it.
Have a great day in church tomorrow. You know that the Lord is worthy of your worship and He delights in the assembling of His people to sing His praises corporately.
