Saturday Evening Update
Saturday evenings have always been special to me. I have never wanted to be out and doing things on Saturday evening because I took my responsibilities so seriously on Sunday. I loved being with my family and helping Karen get our children ready for the Lord’s Day. It brings a smile to me even now when I think back of hearing our young children pray “Dear Lord. Please help daddy not to say something wrong. Please help him when he preaches.” I remember hearing one of our children pray something like “I’m glad dad is the one that is speaking. That’s not what I would ever do.” Tomorrow that one who prayed that prayer will be preaching at the First Baptist Church of Wellington, Ohio.
This Saturday evening is so special to me. Karen has had a good day. No not just good. She had a great day. This is the best I have seen my gal in sometime. We drained her pleurX catheter today. After two days she only drained 50ml once again, which is remarkable. She has been able to eat today and her food tasted good. If all continues the same then tomorrow morning she will be able to go to church. Dear friends will save two seats for us on the aisle and we will slip in after everyone else is seated. This will help us to avoid the hearty handshakes and hugs. Yes Saturday evenings are special and this one is really special.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart” (Proverbs 3:5). It’s easy to quote. It’s precious to live. We’re leaning heavily on the Lord. Thank you so much for praying dear friends. In one of my next updates I am going to write to you about “When the Protector Cannot Protect His Beloved.” It will share a little of my heart and will be good for other caregivers. Be watching for it.
