Sunday Evening April 19th
“Circle the Wagons”
We’re reading a book for cancer patients, Fifty Days of Hope in which the author herself is a cancer survivor. One of the things she strongly recommended is that every cancer patient circles the wagons. She goes on to explain that cancer patients really need the help and prayers of many, many friends. We truly have been blessed with how many friends and family members are circling around us.
Cancer is hard. I mean it is really hard. Life changes when the doctor walks into the hospital room and says, “Mrs. Peck, the biopsy is back. You do indeed have cancer. I am so sorry.” At that moment as I held my wife’s hand and looked into her eyes, I could see the pain. It wasn’t pain for herself. It was the pain that she felt for our children, grandchildren and me.
How amazing is the grace and comfort of the Lord. He Himself has given us such peace. Our friends, our circled wagons, continue to be such an encouragement. Thank you dear friends for all that you are doing and all that you mean to us. For tonight, please join us in prayer for the Lord’s will tomorrow morning in the unplanned blood tests. This will determine if Karen is able to have the surgical procedure to implant the port on Tuesday. I will let you know tomorrow what the results are.
