“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life” (John 8:12).
Have you ever forgotten your flashlight, only to regret it? One night as I was the camp speaker, I was over halfway from the speaker’s cabin to the downstairs chapel hall in the main dining room. A brief and tiny debate took place in my mind. Should I go back and get that flashlight or keep going? “Oh Michael, you’ve spoken a dozen times at this camp over the years. Just walk up the road after chapel. You’ll make it fine.” So I kept going. Did I every regret not having my flashlight on the return to my cabin late that evening! In a much more significant way, people are stumbling and walking in darkness when Christ is the Light of the world. What a wonderful blessing to know Him. Do you know Him?
For today: Don’t try and live by your abilities or wisdom. You need the Savior’s light! By the way, yes I did even stumble and fall once in the dark as I was heading back to my cabin!
