“Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin” (James 4:17).
“But I wasn’t the one who did it,” Jack protested. “No, but you knew that it was dangerous for your little brother to play near the road. Did you call him? Did you go and get him? Did you let me know what he was doing? No, you didn’t, and he could have been killed. I know that you didn’t tell him to play beside the road. But you saw him, and you did nothing about it, Jack,” said his mother. She spoke sternly to him that day. It was one conversation that Jack never needed to have again as a young person. In fact, he often thought about his mother’s conversation even into adulthood. He constantly met men and women who didn’t want to get involved and take a stand for right. Not Jack. He remembered his mama’s talk, and it was confirmed by the writing of James.
