“You sorrow not, even as others which have no hope” (1 Thessalonians 4:13).
It was a week that Pastor Kenward wished had never happened. In just the span of a few days he was called out on several emergency calls that were heart-breaking. The first was the tragic death of a person who died very unexpectedly. Though Pastor Kenward had never met this family or the person who died, his heart was broken because as far as he could tell at the moment he sat in their living room, not one of them had ever trusted Christ. It was awful, just awful. Soon thereafter he stood beside the bed of a believer along with her believing family as she quietly went Home to be with the Lord. What a huge difference, to put it mildly. There were tears at the believer’s bedside but not the sorrow of those who have no hope. Which best describes you and your families?
For today: I am so glad that I know Christ as my Savior. Do you know Him?
